India stocks lower at close of trade; Nifty 50 down 0.47% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.47%, while the index lost 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:), which rose 2.34% or 35.30 points to trade at 1,547.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bajaj Auto Ltd (NS:) added 1.66% or 59.40 points to end at 3,628.20 and Titan Company Ltd (NS:) was up 1.64% or 41.80 points to 2,595.05 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.99% or 25.10 points to trade at 1,233.50 at the close. ICICI Bank Ltd (NS:) declined 1.89% or 17.20 points to end at 890.85 and Grasim Industries Ltd (NS:) was down 1.75% or 30.75 points to 1,722.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.21% to 1,548.45, Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was up 1.77% to settle at 2,597.95 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.03% to close at 6,575.00.

The worst performers were ICICI Bank Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.74% to 890.95 in late trade, Bharti Airtel Ltd (BO:) which lost 1.56% to settle at 806.70 and Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.44% to 2,636.65 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1230 to 673 and 48 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2120 rose and 1243 declined, while 130 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 0.37% to 14.87.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.19% or 3.45 to $1,822.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 0.08% or 0.06 to hit $78.34 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $83.52 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.05% to 82.71, while EUR/INR rose 0.07% to 88.29.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 103.53.
