Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the declined 0.85%, while the index declined 0.81%.

The best performers of the session on the were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which rose 2.35% or 0.54 points to trade at 23.32 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:) added 1.65% or 0.35 points to end at 21.60 and Sanofi SA (EPA:) was up 0.94% or 0.76 points to 81.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were L’Oreal SA (EPA:), which fell 5.80% or 19.10 points to trade at 310.10 at the close. EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:) declined 3.46% or 5.50 points to end at 153.45 and Kering SA (EPA:) was down 3.30% or 15.50 points to 454.10.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:) which rose 11.85% to 9.96, Verallia (EPA:) which was up 2.84% to settle at 27.50 and ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) which gained 2.35% to close at 23.32.

The worst performers were L’Oreal SA (EPA:) which was down 5.80% to 310.10 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:) which lost 4.95% to settle at 18.25 and Mcphy Energy (EPA:) which was down 4.57% to 13.37 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 311 to 210 and 98 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.20% or 19.65 to $1,656.45 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.75% or 0.63 to hit $85.14 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.11% or 1.03 to trade at $93.41 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.43% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.74% at 111.99.
