U.S. stocks lower at close of trade; Dow Jones Industrial Average down 0.10% By Investing.com

Investing.com – U.S. stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NYSE, the lost 0.10%, while the index fell 0.33%, and the index fell 0.09%.

The best performers of the session on the were JPMorgan Chase & Co (NYSE:), which rose 1.64% or 1.67 points to trade at 103.63 at the close. Meanwhile, Coca-Cola Co (NYSE:) added 1.25% or 0.68 points to end at 55.16 and Intel Corporation (NASDAQ:) was up 1.16% or 0.29 points to 25.33 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc (NASDAQ:), which fell 2.05% or 0.67 points to trade at 31.94 at the close. Walmart Inc (NYSE:) declined 1.15% or 1.53 points to end at 131.14 and Boeing Co (NYSE:) was down 0.85% or 1.12 points to 130.45.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd (NYSE:) which rose 11.35% to 45.31, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NYSE:) which was up 11.35% to settle at 12.95 and Carnival Corporation (NYSE:) which gained 9.79% to close at 7.29.

The worst performers were Albemarle Corp (NYSE:) which was down 7.89% to 251.45 in late trade, T. Rowe Price Group Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 5.14% to settle at 98.07 and Entergy Corporation (NYSE:) which was down 4.53% to 96.57 at the close.

The top performers on the NASDAQ Composite were Pintec Technology Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:) which rose 191.16% to 0.91, Agrify Corp (NASDAQ:) which was up 88.02% to settle at 0.95 and 9F Inc (NASDAQ:) which gained 83.42% to close at 0.35.

The worst performers were Fednat Holding Co (NASDAQ:) which was down 33.87% to 0.22 in late trade, T2 Biosystms Inc (NASDAQ:) which lost 30.00% to settle at 0.06 and Kinnate Biopharma Inc (NASDAQ:) which was down 26.65% to 8.12 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the New York Stock Exchange by 1822 to 1261 and 137 ended unchanged; on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange, 1899 fell and 1838 advanced, while 237 ended unchanged.

Shares in T. Rowe Price Group Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.14% or 5.31 to 98.07. Shares in Entergy Corporation (NYSE:) fell to 52-week lows; down 4.53% or 4.58 to 96.57. Shares in T2 Biosystms Inc (NASDAQ:) fell to all time lows; losing 30.00% or 0.02 to 0.06.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.33% or 5.50 to $1,680.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.70% or 2.41 to hit $86.94 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.13% or 2.01 to trade at $92.28 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 0.97, while USD/JPY rose 0.70% to 146.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 113.19.
