Tesla (NASDAQ:) raised prices for its Model X, Model Y, Model S, and Model 3 electric vehicles (EV) in the U.S.

The EV company is yet to release an explanation for the latest price surge, but it is likely that Tesla was forced to increase prices due to the surging costs of raw materials like aluminum.

The EV manufacturer is also dealing with rising inflation and transportation costs, as well as with global supply-chain issues.

The price of Model 3 Long Range went from $54,490 to $57,990 – representing a $2,500 price increase. Similarly, the Long Range Model Y price went from $62,990 to $65,990.

Model X Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive version saw an increase from $114,990 to $120,990, while the price for Model S Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive increased by $5,000 to $104,990.

Tesla shares are down 4% in pre-open Thursday.
