Investing.com – Procter&Gamble reported on Wednesday third quarter that beat analysts’ forecasts and revenue that topped expectations.

Procter&Gamble announced earnings per share of $1.33 on revenue of $19.38B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $1.3 on revenue of $18.72B.

Procter&Gamble shares are down 2.55% from the beginning of the year, still down 3.59% from its 52 week high of $165.35 set on January 21. They are outperforming the Dow Jones which is down 3.93% from the start of the year.

Procter&Gamble follows other major Consumer Staples sector earnings this month

Procter&Gamble’s report follows an earnings beat by Costco on March 3, who reported EPS of $2.92 on revenue of $51.9B, compared to forecasts EPS of $2.76 on revenue of $51.53B.

Constellation Brands B had beat expectations on April 7 with fourth quarter EPS of $2.37 on revenue of $2.1B, compared to forecast for EPS of $2.08 on revenue of $2.02B.
