Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Tokyo, the added 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the were TOTO Ltd. (TYO:), which rose 8.64% or 395.00 points to trade at 4,965.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Daikin Industries, Ltd. (TYO:) added 5.33% or 1,080.00 points to end at 21,330.00 and Eisai Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was up 4.84% or 394.00 points to 8,541.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tokyo Electric Power Co., Inc. (TYO:), which fell 4.18% or 19.00 points to trade at 436.00 at the close. Dai-ichi Life Holdings Inc (TYO:) declined 3.04% or 90.00 points to end at 2,873.50 and Recruit Holdings Co Ltd (TYO:) was down 3.02% or 131.00 points to 4,208.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2146 to 1403 and 278 ended unchanged.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was down 3.80% to 18.21.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 0.44% or 0.33 to $74.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.49% or 0.39 to hit $79.26 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.85 to trade at $1,875.95 a troy ounce.
USD/JPY was up 0.19% to 132.13, while EUR/JPY rose 0.20% to 141.76.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 103.04.
