Investing.com – Japan stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Tokyo, the gained 0.44%.

The best performers of the session on the were Unitika, Ltd. (TYO:), which rose 7.33% or 20.00 points to trade at 293.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Pacific Metals Co., Ltd. (TYO:) added 5.69% or 132.00 points to end at 2,450.00 and Tokai Carbon Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was up 4.78% or 48.00 points to 1,053.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (TYO:), which fell 3.28% or 250.00 points to trade at 7,380.00 at the close. Konami Corp. (TYO:) declined 2.74% or 190.00 points to end at 6,740.00 and Tokyo Tatemono Co., Ltd. (TYO:) was down 1.98% or 43.00 points to 2,133.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Tokyo Stock Exchange by 2052 to 1492 and 259 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nikkei 225 options, was up 4.16% to 21.02.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.46% or 0.39 to $85.75 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.63% or 0.58 to hit $92.58 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 3.25 to trade at $1,681.45 a troy ounce.

USD/JPY was up 0.20% to 143.49, while EUR/JPY rose 0.27% to 143.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 109.32.
