Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 1.77% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index lost 1.61%.

The best performers of the session on the were Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:), which rose 0.07% or 2.55 points to trade at 3,498.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Titan Company Ltd (NS:) added 0.00% or 0.05 points to end at 2,483.05 and Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (NS:) was down 0.22% or 4.10 points to 1,821.95 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:), which fell 7.33% or 62.80 points to trade at 794.10 at the close. Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:) declined 5.85% or 226.35 points to end at 3,642.20 and Hindalco Industries Ltd. (NS:) was down 5.70% or 25.95 points to 429.55.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which unchanged 0.00% to 2,483.10, Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 0.24% to settle at 1,821.50 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which lost 0.56% to close at 1,225.95.

The worst performers were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which was down 4.97% to 102.20 in late trade, State Bank Of India (BO:) which lost 3.27% to settle at 573.95 and Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which was down 3.07% to 1,497.05 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1822 to 127 and 10 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 3004 fell and 456 advanced, while 62 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 6.40% to 16.16 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.57% or 10.20 to $1,805.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.87% or 1.45 to hit $78.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.43% or 1.97 to trade at $82.95 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.18% to 82.81, while EUR/INR rose 0.03% to 87.91.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 103.93.
