Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 1.21%, while the index declined 2.20%, and the index fell 1.21%.

The best performers of the session on the were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:), which rose 3.12% or 0.77 points to trade at 25.49 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) added 1.28% or 2.20 points to end at 173.70 and RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.08% or 0.43 points to 40.11 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which fell 5.62% or 0.69 points to trade at 11.51 at the close. Continental AG O.N. (ETR:) declined 5.57% or 2.73 points to end at 46.31 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was down 5.25% or 1.16 points to 20.93.

The top performers on the MDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which rose 4.46% to 21.10, Stabilus (ETR:) which was up 2.93% to settle at 50.95 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which gained 1.82% to close at 27.47.

The worst performers were HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which was down 8.11% to 21.86 in late trade, Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which lost 6.60% to settle at 105.50 and Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which was down 5.85% to 38.13 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which rose 4.46% to 21.10, Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was up 3.12% to settle at 25.49 and Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which gained 2.05% to close at 22.40.

The worst performers were SMA Solar Technology AG (ETR:) which was down 7.83% to 45.46 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 5.12% to settle at 18.17 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 5.12% to 62.10 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 472 to 213 and 68 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.11% to 29.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.66% or 11.45 to $1,719.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.65% or 1.43 to hit $87.95 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.85% or 1.70 to trade at $93.50 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 1.09% to 0.99, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.12% at 111.21.
