Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 1.47%, while the index climbed 1.23%, and the index added 1.43%.

The best performers of the session on the were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:), which rose 4.14% or 1.01 points to trade at 25.54 at the close. Meanwhile, Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:) added 3.69% or 2.16 points to end at 60.76 and Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:) was up 3.05% or 4.40 points to 148.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:), which fell 2.03% or 1.35 points to trade at 65.07 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:) declined 0.18% or 0.07 points to end at 39.15 and Qiagen NV (ETR:) was 0.00% or 0.00 points to 43.29.

The top performers on the MDAX were Lanxess AG (ETR:) which rose 5.63% to 37.72, Uniper SE (ETR:) which was up 4.91% to settle at 24.34 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:) which gained 4.39% to close at 25.22.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.67% to 81.06 in late trade, Siemens Energy AG (ETR:) which lost 1.56% to settle at 19.25 and Stroeer SE (ETR:) which was down 1.45% to 57.65 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which rose 5.41% to 25.70, Nagarro SE (ETR:) which was up 4.58% to settle at 141.60 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which gained 4.35% to close at 93.50.

The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 2.67% to 81.06 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.09% to settle at 53.90 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 1.03% to 12.95 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 454 to 224 and 92 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.25% to 24.19 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.24% or 4.75 to $1,954.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.42% or 0.43 to hit $102.48 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.03% or 0.03 to trade at $107.22 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.56% at 100.40.
