Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 1.44%, while the index added 2.86%, and the index climbed 2.19%.

The best performers of the session on the were Adidas AG (DE:), which rose 4.93% or 9.84 points to trade at 209.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (DE:) added 3.39% or 0.215 points to end at 6.555 and Vonovia SE (DE:) was up 3.10% or 1.46 points to 48.62 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Allianz SE VNA O.N. (DE:), which fell 3.80% or 6.19 points to trade at 156.55 at the close. Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (DE:) declined 2.43% or 1.230 points to end at 49.305 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:) was down 2.38% or 1.730 points to 71.090.

The top performers on the MDAX were Zalando SE (DE:) which rose 11.46% to 53.50, Brenntag AG (DE:) which was up 7.41% to settle at 43.320 and Puma SE (DE:) which gained 6.96% to close at 59.51.

The worst performers were Metro Wholesale & Food Specialist AG (DE:) which was down 4.53% to 7.5500 in late trade, Hannover Rueck SE (DE:) which lost 3.36% to settle at 141.10 and Aurubis AG (DE:) which was down 2.39% to 49.720 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were S&T AG (DE:) which rose 6.93% to 22.84, New Work SE (DE:) which was up 5.22% to settle at 232.00 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which gained 4.13% to close at 63.000.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was down 2.36% to 7.455 in late trade, Siemens Healthineers AG (DE:) which lost 1.26% to settle at 40.98 and Evotec AG O.N. (DE:) which was down 1.20% to 22.250 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 438 to 229 and 70 ended unchanged.

Shares in Zalando SE (DE:) rose to all time highs; rising 11.46% or 5.50 to 53.50.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.06% to 34.71.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 2.16% or 36.55 to $1725.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.50% or 0.60 to hit $24.59 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.24% or 0.37 to trade at $30.09 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0816, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8752.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 99.977.
