France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 1.20% By Investing.com

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the fell 1.20%, while the index declined 1.12%.

The best performers of the session on the were Euroapi SAS (EPA:), which rose 3.29% or 0.43 points to trade at 13.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:) added 2.05% or 0.48 points to end at 23.93 and WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:) was up 1.60% or 1.14 points to 72.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (EPA:), which fell 4.42% or 0.93 points to trade at 20.10 at the close. L’Oreal SA (EPA:) declined 3.73% or 12.25 points to end at 316.00 and Worldline SA (EPA:) was down 3.41% or 1.27 points to 35.93.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Aeroports de Paris SA (EPA:) which rose 6.17% to 141.95, Air France KLM SA (EPA:) which was up 4.87% to settle at 4.16 and Euronext (EPA:) which gained 3.85% to close at 76.60.

The worst performers were Orpea SA (EPA:) which was down 19.17% to 27.19 in late trade, Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:) which lost 4.67% to settle at 45.95 and Korian Medica SA (EPA:) which was down 4.45% to 19.76 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 304 to 228 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Orpea SA (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; down 19.17% or 6.45 to 27.19. Shares in Inter Parfums Inc. (EPA:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.67% or 2.25 to 45.95.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.00% or 0.05 to $1,818.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 2.03% or 2.23 to hit $107.40 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.25% or 2.52 to trade at $109.41 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 103.71.
