Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 0.19%, while the index climbed 0.21%.

The best performers of the session on the were Capgemini SE (EPA:), which rose 3.88% or 6.05 points to trade at 162.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Schneider Electric SE (EPA:) added 2.42% or 2.74 points to end at 115.86 and Renault SA (EPA:) was up 2.40% or 0.69 points to 29.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Societe Generale SA (EPA:), which fell 4.35% or 0.95 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) declined 4.12% or 0.88 points to end at 20.35 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:) was down 3.90% or 1.76 points to 43.35.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Trigano SA (EPA:) which rose 13.07% to 89.10, Mcphy Energy (EPA:) which was up 9.60% to settle at 9.04 and Covivio SA (EPA:) which gained 4.44% to close at 47.94.

The worst performers were Nexity (EPA:) which was down 14.11% to 19.05 in late trade, Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:) which lost 9.04% to settle at 10.72 and Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:) which was down 6.19% to 7.88 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 328 to 223 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.12% or 0.88 to 20.35. Shares in Nexity (EPA:) fell to 5-year lows; falling 14.11% or 3.13 to 19.05. Shares in Ovh Groupe SAS (EPA:) fell to all time lows; falling 9.04% or 1.07 to 10.72.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.94% or 31.75 to $1,667.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.85% or 3.02 to hit $81.52 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.15% or 2.67 to trade at $87.54 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 1.14% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.03% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.94% at 112.97.
