India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.30% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 0.30%, while the index gained 0.16%.

The best performers of the session on the were UPL Ltd (NS:), which rose 5.42% or 36.70 points to trade at 713.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:) added 2.44% or 79.85 points to end at 3,357.10 and Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:) was up 2.20% or 22.45 points to 1,041.65 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:), which fell 4.80% or 58.45 points to trade at 1,159.95 at the close. Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:) declined 2.24% or 71.85 points to end at 3,140.90 and Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NS:) was down 1.57% or 68.75 points to 4,320.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.22% to 1,017.45, Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which was up 2.14% to settle at 1,041.00 and NTPC Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.89% to close at 167.10.

The worst performers were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was down 4.71% to 1,161.00 in late trade, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which lost 2.26% to settle at 3,141.55 and UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.50% to 6,301.70 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 956 to 839 and 76 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1705 fell and 1549 advanced, while 133 ended unchanged.

Shares in HCL Technologies Ltd (BO:) rose to all time lows; rising 2.22% or 22.05 to 1,017.45. Shares in IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) fell to all time lows; down 4.71% or 57.35 to 1,161.00. Shares in Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) rose to all time lows; rising 2.14% or 21.80 to 1,041.00. Shares in Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) fell to all time lows; down 2.26% or 72.55 to 3,141.55. Shares in NTPC Ltd (BO:) rose to all time lows; up 1.89% or 3.10 to 167.10. Shares in UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) fell to all time lows; falling 1.50% or 95.85 to 6,301.70.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 1.46% to 17.23 a new all time low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.50% or 8.20 to $1,642.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.90% or 1.61 to hit $86.13 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 1.39 to trade at $93.80 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.42% to 82.66, while EUR/INR fell 0.18% to 80.97.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 112.64.
