Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the added 0.19%, while the index added 0.18%.

The best performers of the session on the were Tech Mahindra Ltd (NS:), which rose 3.40% or 37.05 points to trade at 1,126.65 at the close. Meanwhile, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) added 2.60% or 28.85 points to end at 1,137.15 and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) was up 2.46% or 21.80 points to 906.85 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.97% or 136.00 points to trade at 6,783.65 at the close. SBI Life Insurance Company Ltd (NS:) declined 1.54% or 20.25 points to end at 1,297.45 and Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (NS:) was down 1.51% or 19.90 points to 1,302.00.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tech Mahindra Ltd (BO:) which rose 3.32% to 1,126.55, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.60% to settle at 1,136.90 and Infosys Ltd (BO:) which gained 2.43% to close at 1,511.85.

The worst performers were UltraTech Cement Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.94% to 6,784.05 in late trade, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (BO:) which lost 1.41% to settle at 1,302.60 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.26% to 1,949.40 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1064 to 761 and 54 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1709 fell and 1594 advanced, while 122 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 3.21% to 17.72.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.10% or 18.85 to $1,739.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.88% or 1.57 to hit $85.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.90% or 1.69 to trade at $90.84 a barrel.

USD/INR was down 0.19% to 79.56, while EUR/INR rose 0.79% to 80.26.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.06% at 108.54.
