Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 1.09%, while the index declined 1.43%, and the index declined 1.43%.

The best performers of the session on the were Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (ETR:), which rose 0.61% or 0.42 points to trade at 68.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:) added 0.54% or 0.30 points to end at 55.75 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR:) was up 0.54% or 0.14 points to 25.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:), which fell 9.65% or 6.60 points to trade at 61.82 at the close. Airbus Group SE (ETR:) declined 5.67% or 6.46 points to end at 107.40 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was down 3.04% or 0.96 points to 30.64.

The top performers on the MDAX were Hugo Boss AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which rose 1.00% to 52.66, Lanxess AG (ETR:) which was unchanged 0.00% to settle at 38.55 and K&S AG (ETR:) which lost 0.09% to close at 21.48.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:) which was down 4.78% to 28.06 in late trade, Befesa SA (ETR:) which lost 4.11% to settle at 41.10 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 4.08% to 19.06 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 3.51% to 15.33, Qiagen NV (ETR:) which was up 0.30% to settle at 47.56 and CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 0.11% to close at 36.20.

The worst performers were Varta AG (ETR:) which was down 4.78% to 28.06 in late trade, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which lost 4.34% to settle at 29.06 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 4.08% to 19.06 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 511 to 158 and 90 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 6.97% to 21.80.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.75% or 13.20 to $1,740.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.19% or 0.91 to hit $77.19 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.26 to trade at $83.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.56% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 106.36.
