Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.66%, while the index declined 0.49%, and the index lost 0.35%.

The best performers of the session on the were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:), which rose 1.85% or 0.76 points to trade at 41.76 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) added 1.13% or 4.20 points to end at 374.50 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:) was up 1.01% or 0.54 points to 54.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:), which fell 4.84% or 1.77 points to trade at 34.83 at the close. HelloFresh SE (ETR:) declined 2.49% or 0.91 points to end at 35.66 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was down 2.19% or 0.64 points to 28.65.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which rose 2.81% to 212.10, CTS Eventim AG (ETR:) which was up 1.19% to settle at 59.65 and Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.15% to close at 9.11.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 4.34% to 12.77 in late trade, Hypoport AG (ETR:) which lost 3.49% to settle at 249.20 and United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was down 2.72% to 29.67 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 1.28% to 20.20, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which was up 1.13% to settle at 374.50 and Varta AG (ETR:) which gained 0.93% to close at 86.60.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 4.34% to 12.77 in late trade, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which lost 2.72% to settle at 29.67 and Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 2.55% to 51.60 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 459 to 210 and 95 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 2.55% to 22.13.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.44% or 8.10 to $1,851.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.80% or 0.95 to hit $117.55 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.60 to trade at $118.91 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.39% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.04% at 102.40.
