Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the fell 0.43%, while the index fell 1.26%, and the index lost 0.19%.

The best performers of the session on the were Qiagen NV (ETR:), which rose 5.97% or 2.50 points to trade at 44.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Zalando SE (ETR:) added 4.65% or 0.96 points to end at 21.62 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR:) was up 2.41% or 0.64 points to 27.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Brenntag AG (ETR:), which fell 8.74% or 5.50 points to trade at 57.44 at the close. BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 3.99% or 1.73 points to end at 41.47 and Covestro AG (ETR:) was down 3.52% or 1.17 points to 32.10.

The top performers on the MDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which rose 3.60% to 2.10, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was up 3.15% to settle at 20.46 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which gained 2.89% to close at 8.04.

The worst performers were K&S AG (ETR:) which was down 4.96% to 21.09 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which lost 4.35% to settle at 24.63 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.51% to 104.60 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Qiagen NV (ETR:) which rose 5.97% to 44.35, Suse SA (ETR:) which was up 4.19% to settle at 15.65 and Nagarro SE (ETR:) which gained 3.90% to close at 93.30.

The worst performers were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 4.35% to 24.63 in late trade, Bechtle AG (ETR:) which lost 3.42% to settle at 35.07 and Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.02% to 23.30 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 412 to 253 and 86 ended unchanged.

Shares in Brenntag AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 8.74% or 5.50 to 57.44. Shares in Bechtle AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.42% or 1.24 to 35.07.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.97% to 31.35.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.73% or 12.15 to $1,687.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.08% or 1.90 to hit $89.23 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 1.81 to trade at $94.38 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 0.98, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.55% at 112.45.
