Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.19%, while the index declined 0.95%, and the index lost 1.55%.

The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (ETR:), which rose 3.24% or 1.20 points to trade at 38.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) added 2.10% or 6.20 points to end at 301.50 and Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.92% or 2.60 points to 137.84 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which fell 3.81% or 14.00 points to trade at 353.40 at the close. Linde PLC (ETR:) declined 2.61% or 8.60 points to end at 321.10 and Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) was down 2.23% or 2.45 points to 107.65.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.12% to 5.30, Aurubis AG (ETR:) which was up 2.01% to settle at 74.98 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.52% to close at 8.01.

The worst performers were Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which was down 7.81% to 2.34 in late trade, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which lost 6.36% to settle at 2.27 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) which was down 4.75% to 22.66 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which rose 1.34% to 22.65, United Internet AG NA (ETR:) which was up 0.42% to settle at 19.14 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which gained 0.34% to close at 29.91.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which was down 6.36% to 2.27 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 4.81% to settle at 34.46 and Software AG (ETR:) which was down 4.09% to 23.92 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 383 to 265 and 110 ended unchanged.

Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 2.10% or 6.20 to 301.50.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.78% to 21.97.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.59% or 10.20 to $1,750.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.55% or 1.20 to hit $78.44 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.86% or 0.72 to trade at $84.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.03, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.58.
