Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the fell 2.01% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index fell 1.85%.

The best performers of the session on the were Engie SA (EPA:), which rose 2.96% or 0.33 points to trade at 11.56 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) added 2.18% or 1.94 points to end at 91.12 and Danone SA (EPA:) was up 1.74% or 0.96 points to 56.18 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which fell 8.84% or 2.61 points to trade at 26.92 at the close. Kering SA (EPA:) declined 4.35% or 23.00 points to end at 506.20 and TotalEnergies SE (EPA:) was down 4.01% or 1.84 points to 44.03.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which rose 9.50% to 42.08, Electricite de France SA (EPA:) which was up 3.63% to settle at 9.03 and Engie SA (EPA:) which gained 2.96% to close at 11.56.

The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:) which was down 15.96% to 12.95 in late trade, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:) which lost 8.84% to settle at 26.92 and Vallourec (EPA:) which was down 7.81% to 10.56 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 382 to 192 and 87 ended unchanged.

Shares in Kering SA (EPA:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.35% or 23.00 to 506.20.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.87% or 36.25 to $1,898.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 5.00% or 5.10 to hit $96.97 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 5.07% or 5.38 to trade at $100.77 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 101.72.
