Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the added 2.50%, while the index gained 2.34%.

The best performers of the session on the were L’Oreal SA (EPA:), which rose 4.81% or 14.85 points to trade at 323.85 at the close. Meanwhile, TotalEnergies SE (EPA:) added 4.58% or 2.20 points to end at 50.35 and LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA:) was up 4.28% or 23.50 points to 573.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Euroapi SAS (EPA:), which fell 5.43% or 0.79 points to trade at 13.71 at the close. Alstom SA (EPA:) declined 5.16% or 1.19 points to end at 21.85 and Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:) was down 1.06% or 0.88 points to 82.50.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Faurecia (EPA:) which rose 5.99% to 21.41, Elior Group (EPA:) which was up 5.53% to settle at 2.71 and Accor SA (EPA:) which gained 5.27% to close at 30.57.

The worst performers were Euroapi SAS (EPA:) which was down 5.43% to 13.71 in late trade, Alstom SA (EPA:) which lost 5.16% to settle at 21.85 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:) which was down 5.11% to 41.61 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 353 to 190 and 100 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.57% or 10.41 to $1,851.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 6.18% or 6.17 to hit $105.93 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 5.22% or 5.35 to trade at $107.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.34% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 103.86.
