France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.46%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 0.46%, while the index added 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:), which rose 3.52% or 1.59 points to trade at 46.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:) added 2.98% or 0.73 points to end at 25.23 and Alstom SA (EPA:) was up 2.30% or 0.54 points to 24.04 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Worldline SA (EPA:), which fell 3.68% or 1.57 points to trade at 41.13 at the close. Thales (EPA:) declined 2.24% or 2.75 points to end at 120.00 and Stellantis NV (EPA:) was down 2.22% or 0.31 points to 13.77.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Quadient SA (EPA:) which rose 4.73% to 13.28, Virbac SA (EPA:) which was up 3.54% to settle at 248.50 and Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:) which gained 3.52% to close at 46.80.

The worst performers were Ipsen SA (EPA:) which was down 4.20% to 102.60 in late trade, Worldline SA (EPA:) which lost 3.68% to settle at 41.13 and Compagnie Plastic Omnium SE (EPA:) which was down 2.55% to 13.35 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 297 to 234 and 88 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.52% or 9.35 to $1,810.85 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.73% or 0.52 to hit $70.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 0.45% or 0.34 to trade at $75.81 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.50% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.02% at 104.77.
