France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.06%

Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Paris, the gained 0.06%, while the index climbed 0.04%.

The best performers of the session on the were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:), which rose 2.22% or 0.44 points to trade at 20.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Bouygues SA (PA:) added 1.97% or 0.68 points to end at 35.20 and Publicis Groupe SA (PA:) was up 1.94% or 0.86 points to 45.13 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Carrefour SA (PA:), which fell 6.62% or 1.10 points to trade at 15.51 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:) declined 3.36% or 2.10 points to end at 60.40 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (PA:) was down 1.99% or 0.46 points to 22.67.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (PA:) which rose 4.18% to 114.70, Faurecia (PA:) which was up 3.08% to settle at 42.44 and Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:) which gained 2.94% to close at 76.95.

The worst performers were Carrefour SA (PA:) which was down 6.62% to 15.51 in late trade, Klepierre SA (PA:) which lost 4.65% to settle at 18.23 and Mcphy Energy (PA:) which was down 4.28% to 36.90 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 356 to 248 and 69 ended unchanged.

Shares in Publicis Groupe SA (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; up 1.94% or 0.86 to 45.13. Shares in Eurofins Scientific SE (PA:) rose to 52-week highs; rising 2.94% or 2.20 to 76.95.

The , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0% to 18.96 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.33% or 6.05 to $1835.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $52.35 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.18 to trade at $54.92 a barrel.

EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.2075, while EUR/GBP rose 0.06% to 0.8894.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 90.760.
