Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sydney, the added 0.23%.

The best performers of the session on the were Nuix Ltd (ASX:), which rose 21.93% or 0.13 points to trade at 0.69 at the close. Meanwhile, OZ Minerals Ltd (ASX:) added 3.95% or 1.04 points to end at 27.34 and NIB Holdings (ASX:) was up 3.19% or 0.22 points to 7.12 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zip Co Ltd (ASX:), which fell 4.94% or 0.04 points to trade at 0.77 at the close. EML Payments Ltd (ASX:) declined 4.85% or 0.03 points to end at 0.49 and Washington H Soul Pattinson&Co Ltd (ASX:) was down 3.88% or 1.11 points to 27.50.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 610 to 577 and 335 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.34% to 14.61 a new 1-month low.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.27% or 4.75 to $1,767.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.37% or 0.30 to hit $81.94 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.05 to trade at $89.83 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.46% to 0.67, while AUD/JPY rose 0.21% to 93.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 106.39.
