Investing.com – Viatris reported on Monday first quarter that missed analysts’ forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

Viatris announced earnings per share of $0.33 on revenue of $4.19B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $0.8342 on revenue of $4.25B.

Viatris shares are up 6% from the beginning of the year, still down 38.92% from its 52 week high of $16.29 set on May 17, 2021. They are outperforming the S&P 500 which is down 13.49% from the start of the year.

Viatris follows other major Healthcare sector earnings this month

Viatris’s report follows an earnings beat by UnitedHealth on April 14, who reported EPS of $5.49 on revenue of $80.15B, compared to forecasts EPS of $5.36 on revenue of $78.73B.

J&J had beat expectations on April 19 with first quarter EPS of $2.67 on revenue of $23.43B, compared to forecast for EPS of $2.59 on revenue of $23.62B.
