Investing.com – Saudi Arabia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Saudi Arabia, the declined 1.21%.

The best performers of the session on the were Al Sagr Co-operative Insurance Co (TADAWUL:), which rose 6.44% or 0.92 points to trade at 15.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Americana Restaurants (TADAWUL:) added 5.57% or 0.17 points to end at 3.22 and National Metal Manufacturing Co. (TADAWUL:) was up 5.16% or 0.92 points to 18.74 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Arab National Bank (TADAWUL:), which fell 4.82% or 1.60 points to trade at 31.60 at the close. Al Yamamah Steel Industries Co (TADAWUL:) declined 4.11% or 0.98 points to end at 22.84 and Al Hassan Ghazi Ibrahim Shaker (TADAWUL:) was down 4.08% or 0.82 points to 19.30.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Saudi Arabia Stock Exchange by 205 to 44 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in Americana Restaurants (TADAWUL:) rose to all time highs; rising 5.57% or 0.17 to 3.22.

Crude oil for February delivery was down 2.35% or 1.81 to $75.12 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 2.44% or 2.00 to hit $80.10 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.09% or 20.05 to trade at $1,866.15 a troy ounce.

EUR/SAR was up 0.61% to 3.99, while USD/SAR unchanged 0.01% to 3.76.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 103.79.
