India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.55% By Investing.com

Investing.com – India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in NSE, the gained 0.55%, while the index climbed 0.51%.

The best performers of the session on the were IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:), which rose 2.09% or 25.25 points to trade at 1,234.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Adani Enterprises Ltd (NS:) added 2.03% or 73.95 points to end at 3,721.15 and Tata Steel Ltd (NS:) was up 1.99% or 2.35 points to 120.45 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Titan Company Ltd (NS:), which fell 1.20% or 29.40 points to trade at 2,417.20 at the close. Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NS:) declined 0.52% or 22.80 points to end at 4,336.95 and Nestle India Ltd (NS:) was down 0.46% or 90.95 points to 19,782.30.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Tata Steel Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.03% to 120.45, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which was up 2.00% to settle at 1,233.45 and Infosys Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.55% to close at 1,503.50.

The worst performers were Titan Company Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.14% to 2,417.65 in late trade, Nestle India Ltd (BO:) which lost 0.44% to settle at 19,790.95 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which was down 0.30% to 2,153.75 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1075 to 825 and 68 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 1898 rose and 1459 declined, while 150 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was down 5.34% to 14.46.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.45% or 8.55 to $1,907.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.80 to hit $79.19 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.96% or 0.81 to trade at $84.84 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.33% to 81.37, while EUR/INR rose 0.26% to 88.21.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 101.91.
