Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.56%, while the index fell 1.07%, and the index fell 0.84%.

The best performers of the session on the were Siemens Energy AG (ETR:), which rose 2.83% or 0.46 points to trade at 16.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) added 1.31% or 1.82 points to end at 140.84 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.26% or 0.13 points to 10.15 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Bayer AG NA (ETR:), which fell 3.19% or 1.75 points to trade at 53.09 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR:) declined 2.25% or 0.71 points to end at 30.88 and Deutsche Boerse AG (ETR:) was down 2.24% or 4.00 points to 174.60.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aixtron SE (ETR:) which rose 1.74% to 31.65, Befesa SA (ETR:) which was up 1.27% to settle at 43.06 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 0.90% to close at 7.82.

The worst performers were Rational AG (ETR:) which was down 8.00% to 575.00 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 4.02% to settle at 16.94 and Lanxess AG (ETR:) which was down 3.68% to 37.94 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.08% to 12.53, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was up 1.74% to settle at 31.65 and Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.40% to close at 15.98.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 4.02% to 16.94 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:) which lost 2.36% to settle at 19.44 and Varta AG (ETR:) which was down 2.24% to 28.83 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 433 to 248 and 80 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 1.49% or 26.95 to $1,782.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.55% or 2.04 to hit $77.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 2.29% or 1.96 to trade at $83.61 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.54% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.60% at 105.13.
