Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.17%, while the index fell 0.03%, and the index fell 0.49%.

The best performers of the session on the were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which rose 2.69% or 3.75 points to trade at 143.30 at the close. Meanwhile, E.ON SE (ETR:) added 2.11% or 0.20 points to end at 9.67 and Muench. Rueckvers. VNA O.N. (ETR:) was up 1.07% or 2.40 points to 225.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Zalando SE (ETR:), which fell 3.74% or 1.37 points to trade at 35.22 at the close. Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) declined 2.03% or 0.76 points to end at 36.61 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) was down 1.84% or 0.64 points to 34.23.

The top performers on the MDAX were Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which rose 5.33% to 208.50, Befesa SA (ETR:) which was up 1.47% to settle at 62.00 and Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) which gained 1.35% to close at 176.90.

The worst performers were Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was down 3.09% to 45.13 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which lost 2.91% to settle at 6.57 and Jungheinrich AG O.N.VZO (ETR:) which was down 2.84% to 25.28 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which rose 1.11% to 3.00, Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which was up 1.11% to settle at 29.16 and Freenet AG NA (ETR:) which gained 0.37% to close at 24.70.

The worst performers were CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 3.93% to 49.86 in late trade, Eckert & Ziegler AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.68% to settle at 41.32 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 2.38% to 27.02 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 342 to 333 and 90 ended unchanged.

Shares in Wacker Chemie O.N. (ETR:) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.35% or 2.35 to 176.90.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.37% to 21.79 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.03% or 19.35 to $1,852.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.73% or 2.02 to hit $118.89 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.76% or 2.07 to trade at $119.68 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.36% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 102.12.
