Investing.com – Germany stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the declined 0.07%, while the index lost 0.24%, and the index lost 1.25%.

The best performers of the session on the were Covestro AG (ETR:), which rose 8.23% or 2.53 points to trade at 33.27 at the close. Meanwhile, BASF SE NA O.N. (ETR:) added 6.13% or 2.49 points to end at 43.19 and Deutsche Post AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was up 4.75% or 1.47 points to 32.32 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which fell 4.47% or 5.82 points to trade at 124.46 at the close. Qiagen NV (ETR:) declined 4.30% or 1.88 points to end at 41.85 and Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR:) was down 4.03% or 2.42 points to 57.70.

The top performers on the MDAX were K&S AG (ETR:) which rose 5.92% to 22.19, Evonik Industries AG (ETR:) which was up 5.43% to settle at 17.96 and Lanxess AG (ETR:) which gained 5.09% to close at 33.44.

The worst performers were Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was down 9.39% to 7.04 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) which lost 7.23% to settle at 34.15 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which was down 4.56% to 147.50 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which rose 3.46% to 26.30, Cancom SE O.N. (ETR:) which was up 2.61% to settle at 25.16 and Bechtle AG (ETR:) which gained 1.03% to close at 36.31.

The worst performers were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 5.26% to 7.78 in late trade, Qiagen NV (ETR:) which lost 4.30% to settle at 41.85 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was down 3.52% to 25.75 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 366 to 308 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) fell to 5-year lows; down 9.39% or 0.73 to 7.04. Shares in Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 5.26% or 0.43 to 7.78.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 3.99% to 31.05.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.91% or 32.70 to $1,676.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.45% or 0.42 to hit $92.22 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.76 to trade at $97.16 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.47% to 0.97, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.88.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 113.17.
