Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 1.59%, while the index climbed 1.71%, and the index added 2.78%.

The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (ETR:), which rose 5.57% or 8.70 points to trade at 164.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Healthineers AG (ETR:) added 4.88% or 2.18 points to end at 46.83 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was up 4.78% or 0.41 points to 8.92 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR:), which fell 3.11% or 1.20 points to trade at 37.42 at the close. E.ON SE (ETR:) declined 1.65% or 0.14 points to end at 8.60 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was down 1.57% or 0.40 points to 25.14.

The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 5.77% to 24.58, Aixtron SE (ETR:) which was up 5.08% to settle at 23.98 and Bechtle AG (ETR:) which gained 4.56% to close at 39.19.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 8.40% to 10.79 in late trade, Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which lost 4.94% to settle at 5.97 and Uniper SE (ETR:) which was down 2.84% to 17.80 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which rose 6.37% to 43.08, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 5.77% to settle at 24.58 and Aixtron SE (ETR:) which gained 5.08% to close at 23.98.

The worst performers were TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which was down 8.40% to 10.79 in late trade, Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which lost 2.54% to settle at 18.81 and Varta AG (ETR:) which was down 0.93% to 83.22 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 482 to 196 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Uniper SE (ETR:) fell to 3-years lows; down 2.84% or 0.52 to 17.80.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.22% to 27.22.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.03% or 0.60 to $1,829.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.30% or 2.40 to hit $106.67 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.00% or 2.20 to trade at $112.25 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.97.
