Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the rose 0.72%, while the index climbed 1.39%, and the index gained 0.74%.

The best performers of the session on the were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:), which rose 4.90% or 9.20 points to trade at 197.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Delivery Hero AG (ETR:) added 4.09% or 1.41 points to end at 35.89 and Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) was up 4.05% or 0.38 points to 9.86 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Covestro AG (ETR:), which fell 4.85% or 2.01 points to trade at 39.40 at the close. Symrise AG Inh. O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.31% or 2.60 points to end at 109.85 and SAP SE (ETR:) was down 1.31% or 1.26 points to 95.25.

The top performers on the MDAX were Sixt SE (ETR:) which rose 5.48% to 127.00, Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) which was up 5.10% to settle at 222.40 and Duerr AG (ETR:) which gained 4.26% to close at 25.48.

The worst performers were RTL Group SA (ETR:) which was down 9.12% to 45.04 in late trade, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which lost 3.00% to settle at 114.95 and Hypoport AG (ETR:) which was down 2.66% to 263.80 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which rose 6.45% to 14.03, Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was up 3.93% to settle at 66.15 and Nagarro SE (ETR:) which gained 3.33% to close at 130.40.

The worst performers were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was down 3.00% to 114.95 in late trade, Software AG (ETR:) which lost 1.82% to settle at 29.08 and Suse SA (ETR:) which was down 1.63% to 30.26 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 462 to 220 and 82 ended unchanged.

Shares in Covestro AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.85% or 2.01 to 39.40. Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR:) rose to all time highs; rising 5.10% or 10.80 to 222.40. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; losing 3.00% or 3.55 to 114.95. Shares in Hypoport AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.66% or 7.20 to 263.80. Shares in Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 3.00% or 3.55 to 114.95.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 7.04% to 31.29.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.40% or 7.47 to $1,871.07 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.95% or 2.05 to hit $103.12 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 2.02 to trade at $105.56 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.27% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.34% at 103.42.
