Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.72%, while the index added 0.57%, and the index gained 0.90%.

The best performers of the session on the were Merck KGaA (ETR:), which rose 2.80% or 4.70 points to trade at 172.40 at the close. Meanwhile, SAP SE (ETR:) added 2.54% or 2.28 points to end at 92.02 and HelloFresh SE (ETR:) was up 2.34% or 0.79 points to 34.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Hannover Rueck SE (ETR:), which fell 3.07% or 4.40 points to trade at 139.05 at the close. Deutsche Bank AG NA O.N. (ETR:) declined 1.37% or 0.13 points to end at 9.36 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:) was down 1.16% or 0.33 points to 28.03.

The top performers on the MDAX were Gerresheimer AG (ETR:) which rose 2.98% to 67.45, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was up 2.80% to settle at 123.15 and TeamViewer AG (ETR:) which gained 2.30% to close at 12.45.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which was down 4.24% to 2.78 in late trade, LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:) which lost 3.25% to settle at 97.62 and Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:) which was down 1.80% to 27.26 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 2.83% to 19.63, Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR:) which was up 2.80% to settle at 123.15 and SAP SE (ETR:) which gained 2.54% to close at 92.02.

The worst performers were Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (ETR:) which was down 4.24% to 2.78 in late trade, Suse SA (ETR:) which lost 4.16% to settle at 26.74 and Siltronic AG (ETR:) which was down 1.48% to 86.35 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 389 to 302 and 77 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fuchs Petrolub AG VZO Pref (ETR:) fell to 52-week lows; down 1.80% or 0.50 to 27.26.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.67% to 27.00.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.08% or 1.53 to $1,839.67 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.56 to hit $109.33 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.55% or 0.62 to trade at $111.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 103.13.
