Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the gained 0.25%, while the index climbed 0.53%, and the index added 1.14%.

The best performers of the session on the were RWE AG ST O.N. (DE:), which rose 6.32% or 2.070 points to trade at 34.830 at the close. Meanwhile, Siemens Energy AG (DE:) added 3.07% or 0.73 points to end at 24.51 and E.ON SE (DE:) was up 2.98% or 0.321 points to 11.082 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Delivery Hero AG (DE:), which fell 3.89% or 4.60 points to trade at 113.70 at the close. Zalando SE (DE:) declined 2.11% or 1.69 points to end at 78.30 and Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:) was down 1.71% or 0.950 points to 54.670.

The top performers on the MDAX were Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:) which rose 2.96% to 173.800, Nemetschek AG O.N. (DE:) which was up 2.95% to settle at 104.800 and Fraport AG (DE:) which gained 2.02% to close at 60.740.

The worst performers were AUTO1 Group SE (DE:) which was down 2.29% to 25.60 in late trade, Scout24 AG (DE:) which lost 2.03% to settle at 59.740 and Vantage Towers AG (DE:) which was down 1.73% to 29.53 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Jenoptik AG (DE:) which rose 7.94% to 35.080, Nordex SE O.N. (DE:) which was up 7.54% to settle at 16.550 and SMA Solar Technology AG (DE:) which gained 4.51% to close at 44.520.

The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (DE:) which was down 1.73% to 29.53 in late trade, Pfeiffer Vacuum Technology O.N. (DE:) which lost 0.80% to settle at 216.25 and Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:) which was down 0.50% to 16.836 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 373 to 314 and 88 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (DE:) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.71% or 0.950 to 54.670. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (DE:) fell to all time lows; falling 2.29% or 0.60 to 25.60. Shares in Jenoptik AG (DE:) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 7.94% or 2.580 to 35.080.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 5.00% to 18.81.

Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.31% or 5.45 to $1789.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.24% or 0.19 to hit $78.20 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.07% or 0.06 to trade at $82.31 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1211, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8414.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 96.757.
