Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 0.19% to hit a new 6-months high, while the index climbed 0.63%, and the index climbed 1.21%.

The best performers of the session on the were Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:), which rose 2.69% or 10.90 points to trade at 415.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Bayer AG NA (ETR:) added 1.83% or 1.03 points to end at 57.41 and Zalando SE (ETR:) was up 1.65% or 0.69 points to 42.59 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:), which fell 3.72% or 1.13 points to trade at 29.41 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) declined 2.81% or 3.62 points to end at 125.10 and Mercedes Benz Group AG (ETR:) was down 2.70% or 1.86 points to 67.04.

The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (ETR:) which rose 5.54% to 92.54, Kion Group AG (ETR:) which was up 5.21% to settle at 35.77 and Bechtle AG (ETR:) which gained 4.53% to close at 37.12.

The worst performers were Stabilus (ETR:) which was down 3.94% to 63.40 in late trade, Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which lost 3.19% to settle at 8.20 and LEG Immobilien AG (ETR:) which was down 2.37% to 72.42 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 8.75% to 16.60, Bechtle AG (ETR:) which was up 4.53% to settle at 37.12 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which gained 4.33% to close at 17.84.

The worst performers were Verbio Vereinigte Bioenergie AG (ETR:) which was down 1.63% to 57.45 in late trade, Jenoptik AG (ETR:) which lost 1.33% to settle at 28.18 and Nordex SE O.N. (ETR:) which was down 0.85% to 14.64 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 400 to 280 and 82 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 3.09% to 17.55 a new 6-months low.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.22% or 23.15 to $1,921.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.30% or 1.02 to hit $79.41 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.80% or 0.67 to trade at $84.70 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.18% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 101.96.
