After a stronger open on cooling inflation fears, stocks closed mixed with the Nasdaq the only major index to close in the green on some hawkish Fed speak. Amid the seesaw action, several rumors swirled around Wall Street today. Below we highlighted a few:

Oak Street Health (NYSE:) surged 24% after-hours Monday after Bloomberg News reported CVS Health (NYSE:) is exploring a takeover of the company. CVS has said recently that it is targeting M&A for primary care centers. This rumor has been around since at least November, with CVS rumored to be looking at alternatives to a Cano Health Inc (NYSE:) takeover.

Rite Aid (NYSE:) gained 1% on vague takeover speculation after President and CEO Heyward Donigan departed from the company.

Manchester United plc (NYSE:) remains in play and today it was reported that Qatar Fund is exploring a potential takeover. Qatar would be one of several bidders looking at the soccer club as the owners explore a sale. Shares closed down despite the chatter.
