Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the added 1.05%, while the index climbed 0.94%, and the index gained 1.86%.

The best performers of the session on the were Zalando SE (ETR:), which rose 4.10% or 1.35 points to trade at 34.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) added 4.06% or 14.50 points to end at 371.70 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR:) was up 2.62% or 2.44 points to 95.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were MTU Aero Engines NA O.N. (ETR:), which fell 0.29% or 0.60 points to trade at 204.40 at the close. Covestro AG (ETR:) declined 0.16% or 0.06 points to end at 36.88 and Daimler Truck Holding AG (ETR:) was up 0.09% or 0.03 points to 29.39.

The top performers on the MDAX were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 4.07% to 15.59, Aroundtown Property Holdings PLC (ETR:) which was up 3.75% to settle at 2.21 and Tag Immobilien AG (ETR:) which gained 3.57% to close at 6.10.

The worst performers were Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR:) which was down 3.25% to 7.85 in late trade, Aurubis AG (ETR:) which lost 1.34% to settle at 78.16 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (ETR:) which was down 0.72% to 8.82 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Morphosys AG O.N. (ETR:) which rose 10.37% to 13.30, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR:) which was up 4.07% to settle at 15.59 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR:) which gained 4.06% to close at 371.70.

The worst performers were Vantage Towers AG (ETR:) which was up 0.06% to 32.16 in late trade, Hensoldt Ag (ETR:) which gained 0.45% to settle at 22.40 and ADTRAN Holdingsa Inc (ETR:) which was up 0.58% to 17.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 510 to 179 and 72 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.52% to 20.15.

Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.54% or 9.75 to $1,825.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.19% or 0.94 to hit $78.02 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.20% or 1.01 to trade at $82.98 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.31% to 0.89.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 103.63.
